My woodturning journey started when I was in my early teens around the year 2000. After leaving school in 2002 I studied furniture making and restoration, whilst working part time in a Woodturning supply shop. I then took a hiatus and went into education and worked in a school. Coming back to woodturning in 2014 when I set up Taylors Mirfield. 

I now offer a broad range of pen turning and woodturning supplies as well as offering tutoring within our purpose build classroom, and now demo's.  

 

Learn the art of pen turning with my informative Pen Turning 101 Demonstration. This step-by-step guide covers every aspect from selecting the perfect blank to drilling, turning, finishing, and all the expert tips and tricks you need.

The My Bowl with Colour Demonstration includes the process of turning and hollowing a basic bowl with a traditional shape, applying deep coloring using spirit stains, and achieving a high gloss lacquer finish. It results in a simple but impactful final piece that is suitable for turners of all skill levels. 

This demonstration showcases the art of turning and hollowing a bowl, resulting in a sleek and refined shape. The process also involves ebonising and layering colors, as well as simple carving techniques on the exterior. A spray lacquer finish adds the final touch. 

The price for an evening club demo for 2024 will be £150 plus 45p per mile starting from WF14 postcode.
